General Knowledge 101: Hacks to learn Indian bank's headquarters

Well, most of us know about banking headquarters and how to learn them. Today, I dedicate my post to those who are still dubious.

First, let's have a concise about Nationalization of Bank. It had done by erstwhile Prime Minister "Indira Gandhi"  after the recommendation of Dr M. S. Swaminathan (Mankombu Sambasivan Swaminathan). 

First 14 banks got nationalized on 19th July 1969 with a total deposit of 50 cr. above.
   
The second phase of nationalization consisted of 6 banks with 200 cr. and took place on 15th April 1980.

Now we will discuss HQ and our general knowledge as much as possible.

*Let's start with the huge numbers. If we talk about Mumbai so how many headquarters does it have? It's 6.

~~ State Bank of India (SBI) - Arundhati Bhattacharya (CMD)
~~ IDBI - M.S. Raghavan (CMD)
~~ Dena Bank - Ashwani Kumar (CMD)
~~ Union Bank of India - Arun Tiwari (CMD)
~~ Bank of India  - Smt V.R. Iyer (CMD)
~~ Central Bank Of India - Rajeev Rishi (CMD)

##TRICK- Besides IDBI, Dena and United Bank of India (Kolkata) every bank which ends with "Bank of India" has the HQ in Mumbai. 

*Now it's time for Kolkata. How many bank's headquarters does it have? It's 3.

~~ UCO Bank - Arun Kaul (CMD)
~~ United Bank of India - Shri P Srinivas (CMD)
~~ Allahabad Bank - Rakesh Sethi (CMD)

##TRICK- UCO United Allahabad, Kolkata mein hain teeno saath.

*Even New Delhi also has the same number of headquarters.

~~ Punjab National Bank - Not Occupied
~~ Punjab and Sindh Bank - Jatinder Bir Singh (CMD)
~~ Oriental Bank of Commerce - Animesh Chauhan (CMD)

##TRICK- New Delhi has 2 "Punjab" and 1 "Oriental".  

*Chennai has 2 headquarters.

~~ Indian Bank - T. M. Bhasin (CMD)
~~ Indian Overseas Bank - R Koteeswaran (CMD)

##TRICK- Chennai has only 2 "India"

*Bangalore follows Chennai.

~~ Canara Bank - T. N. Manoharan (CMD)
~~ Vijaya Bank - V. Kannan (CMD)

##TRICK- Canara ki Vijay bus Bangalore mein hai.

* Bank of Baroda - Baroda - Ranjan Dhawan (CMD)
* Andhra Bank - Hyderabad - C . V. R. Rajendran (CMD)
* Bank of Maharashtra - Pune - Sushil Muhnot (CMD)

##TRICK- Just see it meticulously. These 3 banks refer 3 states and have headquarters in their related cities.

* Corporation Bank - Mangalore - S. R. Banksal (CMD)
* Syndicate Bank - Manipal - Arun Shrivastava (CMD)

##TRICK- Do Corporate with Mangalore and Sync with Manipal.

State Bank of India has 5 associates bank.

* State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur - Jaipur - Jyoti Ghosh (MD)
* State Bank of Hyderabad - Hyderabad - Santanu Mukherjee (MD)
* State Bank of Mysore - Bangalore -  Sharad Sharma (MD)
* State Bank of Patiala - Patiala - S. A. Ramesh Rangan (MD)
* State Bank of Travancore - Thiruvanthapuram - Jeevan Dass Narayan (MD)

##TRICK- In this, I don't think you need any trick as it's conspicuous that besides State Bank of Mysore (Hyderabad) every bank has the same HQ.

Note- State Bank of Saurashtra (2008) and Indore ( 2010) merged in SBI.
