Some general knowledge facts about Europe:
- As of today, there are 52
countries in Europe. It is also home to many of the transcontinental
countries like Russia, Turkey, Georgia which are believed to be a part of
both Asia and Europe.
- There are currently 28 countries that are a part of
European Union(EU).
- In this blog, we have
considered Russia under Europe but it is spread across Asia and Europe. UN
recognizes the Russian Federation as part of Europe although the majority of
Russia's mainland falls under Asia.
- It is the second smallest a continent in the world by size but third largest continent by population.
- Its largest country by the population in Russia and Germany comes
next.
- It is home to the world's largest
country by size (Russia) as well as the world's smallest country by size and population (Vatican City).
- Mount
Elbrus is
the highest mountain in Europe with an elevation of 5642 meters. It is situated in Russia.
- Volga (2850 meters) is the longest river in Europe in Russia.

Try to remember only
those countries which come in news seamlessly for 3 or 4 months prior to the
scheduled exam so you could skip bulk amount to learn.
