Damdama Lake - A perfect weekend getaway

Stress can be catastrophic at times and trigger numerous health issues. But, why am I telling such bloomy tales to you right now? Because today I want to tell you all about such a soothing place that can be your weekend stress buster. If you live in Delhi or NCR(National capital region) and want to leave your all weekdays' anxiety behind Damdama lake is the faultless place to visit. Last month, I made a plan to make my weekend very fruitful and Damdama lake's trip happened promptly; however, this place always crossed my mind. The best way to reach this place is your own vehicle and you can take the feel of the mountains in spite of being present in plain area.                                       Damdama Lake, a reservoir situated at the base of the Aravali hills in Sohna district of Haryana(India), was built when a stone and earthen dam constructed for rain harvesting. Thi...

Agrasen ki Baoli : A stepwell from Mahabharata era

What an awesome day it was when I visited 'Agrasen ki Baoli'. Such a tranquil place that makes you feel its presence in the midst of the metropolitan city's chaotic lifestyle. I always feel thrilled while en route to such historical monuments and what exactly I had felt when I saw Agrasen ki Baoli very first time. Unlike other baolis, this baoli is only 60 meters long and 15 meters wide which is not that much gigantic. Still, its rustic charm compels you to adore it. Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) which comes under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act of 1958 has given the designation of a protected monument to this baoli. This place is situated on Hailey road which is near to Connaught Place, Delhi.                        It hasn't had any historica...

City Palace Udaipur - A place to feel the royalty

Manek Chowk Hello peeps! How are you all? Although I have so much to share I skip this part for now. For the moment, you should come along with me into the world of Kings and Queens. This journey was going to bring a drastic change in my life which took place in September 2018. Apart from City Palace Udaipur, two days tour for two different places of Rajasthan (which I will cover in the next 2 days) was included in this trip.  Exterior View of City Palace Udaipur A wide-angle shot of City Palace Udaipur from Lake Pichola Our first day started off from Delhi and ended in Udaipur where we first reached to City Palace. This palace and Udaipur city was established by Maharana Udai Singh II whose life had been once saved by his maid or 'Dai' Panna Dhai. One more fun fact is Maharana Pratap was the eldest son of Maharana Udai Singh. What a majestic place it is๐Ÿ˜! I must say these royal people live a luxurious life at their best. The very first thing which I noticed w...

Red Fort: An Eden for history savvy

Main entrance of "RED FORT" Every time my perennial strive for Indian history leads me to numerous historical monuments and this time my friends and I decided to visit t his red beauty which is situated in the heart of Old Delhi . This stop-off to Lal Qila  took place last year in September when  one of our commonly odd and random conversations proposed us this idea. Do you know " Red Fort  has already earned the distinction of being the UNESCO World Heritage Site"!

Hauz Khas - A place for nightlife or rich Indian history to cherish?

AREA AROUND THE TOMB AND THE MOSQUE Although Indian history is rich in itself, it needs to advertise at times because when time passes, historical monuments start to fade away. Considering this fact, I want to write about one of those sensational places in Delhi, which is known for its music, lights and  restaurants, not for its enormous historical monuments. HAUZ KHAS FORT AND THE LAKE THE BEAUTIFUL LAKE That was the tomb which grabbed my attention instantaneously, yet all I wanted to see was "THE LAKE". This colossal "Lake" or "Water Tank" was excavated by Alauddin Khalji, who ruled over Delhi through (1296-1316). The main purpose of this water tank was to supply water to the newly built Siri Fort. In fact, this Lake had become dammed in the region of Firuz Shah Tughlaq (1351-1388) that's why he re-excavated it.  GIGANTIC GATE OF TOMB CENOTAPH OF FIRUZ SHAH TUGHLAQ THE MOSQUE And then, I started walking...

Indian History - Riveting Humayun's Tomb

I thought I'd kick off my blog's new post about Humayun's Tomb within last week but it couldn't happen since I had had a very hectic schedule. But now I am so much available to write more and more about my recent visit to this beautiful inimitable prototype of the historical monument.  I visited this place last to last week. I didn't have any plan to go out but one of my friends wanted to do some Photo Shoot and needed some historical backdrop. With the aim that he decided the venue. It was around 3 o'clock in the afternoon when we reached there. As it was my first visit I started enchanting to see the entrance gate. We started our work forthwith and I loved to do that. Well! I think even weather knew my mood and ought to this scenario a light current of air was started to tickle my cheeks and touch my hair smoothly. I just loved that blend of parched and muggy climate. I got so much appreciation from onlookers while doing my work. I felt like I...
