Chittorgarh Fort - More than a Jauhar place

Battlefield of Chittorgarh Fort This post is the third and last part of three days tour series of my Rajasthan's Trip. My last two days' trip had already made me curious about Chittorgarh Fort as this place signifies Rani Padmavati's Johar and Meera Bai's devotion. Rajasthan not merely showcases the courage of Ranas and Maharanas but it also gives honour to the valorous deeds of Hindu Rajput queens. Chittorgarh Fort is almost 3 hours (123.8 km) drive away from Udaipur city and has already made it to the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. This majestic fort encompasses several gates, temples, Gaumukh reservoir, commemorative towers, and palaces. The very first glance of this fort forced me to think 'how come Alauddin Khalji got succeeded in penetrating this indestructible building'! An amazing masterpiece built by the local Maurya Ruler Chitrangada Maurya.  Aerial View of Chittorgarh Fort Recent image of Jauhar Kund  When we were walking insi

Maharana Pratap Museum - A place depicting courage and loyalty

Haldighati Museum Hi All, how are you? Hope you are doing good. As I told you in my last post about my three days tour in Rajasthan. So, this post is about the second day in Udaipur (September 2018). My family was fully charged and all set to explore prolific history about the heroism of Ranas and Maharanas. Even every nook and corner of Rajasthan's streets says about it. We headed towards Haldighati, 40 km away from the main city Udaipur, to witness the saga of Maharana Pratap and his battle with Akbar Badshah. You all must have heard about Maharana Pratap's history; however, if you don't so let me clear your doubts.  Maharana Pratap was the eldest son of Rana Udai Singh II and Maharani Jaiwanta Bai. He is and he will be known for his intrepidity during the Mughal invasion.  For securing his kingdom from the wrath of Mughals, a catastrophic battle had been fought between Mewar kingdom and Mughal army in 1576. And this battle took place in Haldighati where turm

City Palace Udaipur - A place to feel the royalty

Manek Chowk Hello peeps! How are you all? Although I have so much to share I skip this part for now. For the moment, you should come along with me into the world of Kings and Queens. This journey was going to bring a drastic change in my life which took place in September 2018. Apart from City Palace Udaipur, two days tour for two different places of Rajasthan (which I will cover in the next 2 days) was included in this trip.  Exterior View of City Palace Udaipur A wide-angle shot of City Palace Udaipur from Lake Pichola Our first day started off from Delhi and ended in Udaipur where we first reached to City Palace. This palace and Udaipur city was established by Maharana Udai Singh II whose life had been once saved by his maid or 'Dai' Panna Dhai. One more fun fact is Maharana Pratap was the eldest son of Maharana Udai Singh. What a majestic place it is๐Ÿ˜! I must say these royal people live a luxurious life at their best. The very first thing which I noticed w
