INDIA JOLTED BY UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL

India must be in a state of melancholia when its entreaty, to be a member of United Nations Security Council, got rejected. It was not the first time when India's plea turned down. India is a non- permanent member though it can't relish power and bask in eminence as permanent members can. It's just a providence or being unsupported by all permanent members throughout the years. May be some of you thinking what am I talking about? Well its all about UNSC (United Nations Security Council). First let me explain it to you how this term UNSC is notable in itself.

UNSC:-
United Nations Security Council (UNSC) was formed for sustaining and maintaining international security and peace after World War II. Security Council power doesn't end at VETO, it has another power like; accepting new members and give approval to any changes to United Nations. UNSC has 5 permanent and 10 non- permanent members which are illustrating below.

PERMANENT MEMBERS:-

1.) Soviet Union (Russia nowadays)

2.) United Kingdom

3.) Republic of China ( Now called as the People's Republic of China)

4.) United States

5.) France
These Permanent 5 members are also called as "P5".

NON-PERMANENT MEMBERS:-
General Assembly does elect non-permanent member for 2 years tenure conventionally, with 5 replaced each year, which starts from 1 January. There are 5 groups belong to 5 region.

1.) Asia- Pacific

2.) Western Europe and other

3.) Africa

4.) Latin America and Caribbean

5.) Eastern Europe

One out of ten seats, is always occupied by either Asia- Pacific group or African group.

VETO POWER:-
If I talk about in general terms, the veto power was in hand of your parents when you were around 4 years or more till 18. Only P5 members of UNSC have the Veto power and can operate or exercise it. By having this power any P5 member can adjourned resolution and cancel an official action on international level. This veto gives unilateral power to P5 members. They don't need to take permission prior using veto.

India is not all alone in this membership race. Japan and Germany  along with Brazil are also trying very hard to get this. For some obvious reason (World War II) Japan and Germany are not succeeding to achieve it. But if I talk about India, it is not at all abate as comparative to its allies P5 countries. Then should I consider that fact, no P5 member wants to deteriorate its "So called" internal harmony since its formation in 1946 or it's like they don't want to face off with much competitive country like India. As you know only P5 members have the power to assign new member, according to this fact it's all about only their willingness. America showed its concern towards India in January (President much awaited visit to India) without any good conclusion (Seems..... it didn't support India for granting permanent membership). It should've ascertained that there was no use of Barack Obama's visit to India. What about china? Is it true that China is no more interested after 1955 (Although it is not evident but I had read some where  that China helped India in getting permanent membership but reluctantly turned down by former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru). See, this whole scenario is true or not but you can't repudiate one fact that India is again despondent by UNSC and it can't think about getting this membership till next 5 years. What do you think as being an Indian? Is India just beating the dead horse?
